Feasibility Study
The analysis considers all main aspects of each project (technical, legal, economic and planning) in order to assure the successful fulfillment of the project itself, starting from a rough idea. Each Feasibility Study is unique since it reflects the exclusive goals and needs of the related project.
Main goals of a Feasibility Study are the following:
- Understand thoroughly all the aspects of the project (starting from original idea);
- Become aware of all potential problems that might occur during the project development;
- Weigh the pros and cons in developing the project, in order to save time and money;
- Supply to company management, all prior information helpful to avoid any risky business.
Shortly, the Feasibility Study is the test to verify that the project is realizable. It is made through reports that show technical, environmental and financial feasibility. It includes the following steps:
- Technical Literature Survey;
- Draft development;
- Alternative assessments and first description of the Process;
- Issuing of process schemes;
- Preliminary Process Flow Diagram (PFD);
- Overall Heat and Material Balance (HMB);
- Layout resume;
- HS&E study & permitting;
- Order of Magnitude Cost Estimate (+- 50%).
